Program Director, James A. Williams, is an accomplished actor and director from the Twin Cities. His work at PHT developing the Power of Our Voices has been supported in part through a New Generations leadership grant from the Theatre Communications Group, the leading industry advocate for the American theatre. Williams is a founding member of the Penumbra Theatre Company and a former member of the Guthrie Theatre acting company.

Williams is supported by teaching artists Tish Jones and Jasmine McConnell.  Jones is a spoken word artist, activist, educator and organizer in the Twin Cities.  In 2009, Jones was named MN Urban Griots Female Spokenword Artist of the year . McConnell is a spoken word artist who teaches POV classes and helps ensemble members develop and shape their performances.  McConnell has been a force in the spoken word community for the past five years.  She was one of the top twenty artists chosen to represent Minnesota in a national slam competition and is a featured artist in the Book of Rhymes performance series.
